Entrants may be subject to rules imposed by their employers relative to their participation in trade promotions and should check with their employer for any relevant policies. Deadline for entry is 11:59 PM PST on October 31st, 2009. All tales must be emailed and received before the deadline to be eligible.
To enter create an ending for our tale "How Little Bird Got His Name" using the Little Bird Tales website. You must sign up for an account in order to create a tale on Little Bird Tales (there is a free 90 day trial). The ending created must have a minimum of one (1) page, but be no longer than three (3) pages. It must include a name suggestion for "Little Bird", a picture, text and audio. One entry per child.
Name suggestion and the reason behind the name suggestion counts for 75% of decision. The picture(s)/drawing(s) that accompany the tale account for 25% of the decision. If more than one person enters the same name, the person who entered the name first will be given higher credit for the name idea. However, the story behind the name choice and the pictures that accompany the tale ending count towards the final decision, so the overall tale ending is important, not just the name. Final decisions are at the sole discretion of the contest sponsor.
Entries must be emailed to namecontest@littlebirdtales.com (this email address is automatically added to the Little Bird Tales address book when an account is created). Subject should be titled: Little Bird Tales Name Contest
Entries must include the name and age of the child and an email address where they can be reached: This information can be included in the last page of the tale (that will not count as part of the tale) or in the message section of your email. The winner will be notified via the email address used to create the Little Bird Tales Account.
On or about November 31st, 2009, Little Wings will choose the winning submission. The winner will receive a 3 year subscription to Little Bird Tales (valued at $59.95), a check for $250.00 and $250.00 will be donated to an environmental charity of the winners choice in his/her honor.
Winners will be contacted via email provided when creating the Little Bird Tales account. If a winner cannot be reached within 7 days of initial attempt, winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner selected. Odds of winning will be determined by the number of eligible entries received.
Taxes on prizes and all expenses not specified related to acceptance and use of prizes are the sole responsibility of winners. By participating in the Name Little Bird Contest (the "Promotion"), entrants agree (a) to these rules and decisions of Sponsor which shall be final in all respects relating to the Promotion; (b) to release and hold harmless Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates and agencies, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives from any and all claims, demands, costs, expenses, liability, losses or damages of any kind resulting from their participation in the Promotion or their acceptance, use or misuse of a prize, including liability for personal injury or death; and (c) if a winner, to the use of name and/or photograph for advertising and publicity purposes without compensation (unless prohibited by law) and agree to execute specific consent to such use. Winners may be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release and (where legal) Publicity Release and an IRS Form W-9, which must be returned within the time period specified by Sponsor or an alternate winner may be selected. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification of winner and selection of an alternate winner. Sponsor, its officers, directors, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents and representatives and their respective employees are not responsible for (a) any electronic, hardware or software, program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, interruptions, disconnections, miscommunications, failures, or difficulties of any kind, including, without limitation, server malfunction or by any human error which may occur in the processing of entries; (b) failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, and (c) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Promotion or website or act in violation of these Official Rules will be disqualified, at Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend the Promotion or any portion thereof should viruses, bugs, or other causes beyond control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the promotion, in which case the prizes will be awarded via a random drawing from among all eligible entries received prior to cancellation. No prize transfer. No prize substitution except by Sponsor due to unavailability, in which case a prize of comparable or greater value will be awarded. Sponsor is not responsible or liable for late, lost, illegible, damaged or misdirected entries. In no event will Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates and agencies, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your access to and use of the internet site http://www.littlebirdtales.com/ or other sites promoting the Promotion or the downloading from and/or printing material downloaded from said sites. Without limiting the foregoing, everything on this site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Information submitted with an entry is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on the Web site. Entries become the property of Sponsor. No prize transfer. No prize substitution except at Sponsor's sole discretion.

The winner will be notified on or about January 1st 2010 and once contacted, the winner will be announce on the www.littlebirdtales.com website.
